Nigerian superstars, Burna Boy and Tems made their debut at the 2023 edition of the prestigious Met Gala event in New York.
The Met Gala is often called “Fashion’s biggest night where select top stars across the globe will grace the MET steps in outfits they have chosen to best fit the theme for 2023. The 2023 offering pays homage to one of fashion’s greatest designers, Karl Lagerfeld, who died in 2019.
Titled, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” the exhibition features around 150 original looks from his storied career, alongside their respective original sketches.
Both Burna Boy and Tems were privileged to be on the esteemed guest list and they did not fall short on their debut.
Burna Boy Stuns at Met Gala
The self-acclaimed African Giant, known for his energetic performances and his daunting yet impeccable sense of style, did not disappoint. Burna sported matching black and blue slightly checkered outfit and a generous cape-like extension of the same material flowing behind him.
Tems Shines at MET Gala
Nigerian singer, Temilade Openiyi, professionally known as Tems has not only caught the attention of the snobbish fashion world but has remained a mainstay in their hearts.
Coming off a view-blocking Oscars dress, Tems was a beauty to behold in a black-and-white combo at the 2023 MET Gala event.
The dress, one of Robert Wun’s latest signature designs, featured a black corset-like top, a flowing regal white finish at the bottom, and elbow-length gloves.
