Nigerian singer and savvy businessman, Oluwatosin Ajibade popularly known as Mr Eazi has left many hailing him over his latest acquisition.

The singer has sold his portfolio company, Vydia of his venture capital fund, Zagadat Capital, for $1 billion.

The $ 1 billion takeover was led by former Apple executive Larry Jackson through his newly founded multi-faceted company – gamma. Apple and Eldridge Industries and A24 are also listed as some of its investors.

The young VC fund announced its first exit after Gamma acquired its portfolio company Vydia; which has previously worked with artists including Akon, Kanye West, Mr. Eazi, and Anuel.

The deal is the biggest in the history of Afrobeats.

Following the news, many have taken to social media to hail the singer for his silent moves.

This isn’t surprising as last year, Mr. Eazi gifted his colleague a million-dollar contract.

Peruzzi hails Mr Eazi for sending him a $1M contract

Kemi Filani reported that DMW’s singer, Peruzzi had shocked many when he took to the micro-blogging platform to hail Mr Eazi for sending him a huge contract like it was nothing.

He claimed that the son-in-law of Otedola sent him a $ 1 million contract.

He tweeted, “Eazi sent me $1M contact like it was nothing. Lmao crazy ass”.

Taking to the comment section, many hailed Mr. Eazi for living a modest life despite his wealth.

Mr Eazi joins Gigi Hadid, DJ Khaled, and others in Hugo Boss campaign

Also last year, Mr. Eazi teamed up with a bevy of other American models and celebrities for a high-end fashion house campaign by Hugo Boss.

Mr. Eazi joined British model Naomi Campbell, American DJ, DJ Khaled, American model Gigi Hadid, and Senegalese-Italian media personality Khaby Lame for the #BeYourOwnBOSS campaign.

The Nigerian singer was the only African artist featured in the new star-studded Boss campaign, according to a statement signed by Mr. Eazi.

“The advertising campaign for Spring/Summer 2023 features a star-studded lineup of celebrities including Nigerian artiste Mr. Eazi.

“He engaged in some nostalgia posing with an adorable picture taken when he was just a child wearing the new season sweater from Boss.

“The aim is to illustrate Boss’s slogan “Be Your Own Boss”, by telling the story of “the extraordinary path to a life of success” traveled by the celebrities featured in the campaign.

“The brand also enlisted the likes of Colombian pop singer Maluma, US supermodel Gigi Hadid, British model Naomi Campbell, South Korean actor Lee Minho, Italian tennis player Matteo Berrettini, Anthony Joshua, and many others from across the world.

“The superstar singer continues his ascent in recent times following a slew of successful releases of songs like Legalize, Patek, and the latest single; Werser, which is getting traction on Tiktok.

“He also tweeted that he will release a couple of projects this year,” the statement said. (NAN)
